Best Herbicide For Wood Sorrel In Bermuda During Summer?

Not sure if there is a lawn maintenance thread like there used to be on the Outdoor Board.
I have wood sorrel in my yard and can not get rid of it. I have been using Q4 (2,4-D, dimethylamine salt 11.81%, Dicamba, dimethylamine salt 1.49%, Quinclorac 8.43%, Sulfentrazone 0.69%) and it knocks it down on the surface, but comes back. Maybe not enough or something else?

If you don’t mind the cost, Celsius should do it.

yikes, $125 for 10 oz...
I see it treats dallisgrass. might be able to convince a coworker to split, he is having trouble on his zoysia.

It's only 10 ounces, but you only use .01 ounces per 1000 sq/ft. It will last you forever. It will end being cheaper in the long run than what you buy at HD or Lowes and much more effective.

What you are spraying does work but the sorrel reseeds itself before it dies. Water in pre-emergent before spraying next time.
ETA- if you are using the Bayer version in blue bottle, add some Dawn to your sprayer so it sticks better. The Bayer surfactant sucks.

That bottle of Celsius goes a long way. MSM is labeled for it as well. It’s even cheaper.

All the above recommendations are good ones, including the use of pre-emergents. As I recall I paid $95 for Celsius a couple years ago at a Site One - you have one of those near you? I’m 2 years in of using it, have another minimum 3 years left in the bottle. MSM Turf is a good cheaper alternative as noted. Be sure to use surfactant in the solution. LINK

Hey there! I came across your post about herbicides for wood sorrel in Bermuda during the summer, and I thought I'd chime in. There are herbicide products that have active components, such as sulfentrazone, triclopyr, or quinclorac, that are known to be efficient in combating wood sorrel.

That’s digging up quite an old thread.
Wood Sorrel, as a perennial is quite difficult to eliminate as it’s a perennial weed, it requires persistence and patience to keep it check. Just want to point out some of the herbicides you mentioned like quinchlorac can be used in Bermudagrass but not St. Aug or Centipede. Trichlopyr is not labeled for use in lawns and will damage/kill warm season grasses - at least I think it will.
I have some wood sorrel issues in landscape beds, not the lawn, which gives more flexibility in the herbicides I can use as I can spot spray it. I’ve never been able to eliminate it from the beds but I do keep it in check and minimize its spread. I’m probably not as persistence in spraying it as I should - it’s in back of beds usually not visible unless I look for it - that’s part of my problem with being persistent in repeated herbicide sprays.

What in the holy hell is going on. A four year old thread bumped by two people that only have one post.
