Best Fertilizer and Weedkiller with Dogs

We got new sod last summer so only were only able to weed/feed in the fall. Since then we got a new puppy so looking for something effective but also safe for a dumb puppy that puts everything little thing in their mouth.
What is the boards recommendation?

If I do granular I get it watered in real good before letting the dog out. If it is a liquid I wait until it has dried real good.

In all my years of doing this I’ve never seen a dog get sick. Anything you put down you’ll want to read the label. Your answers will be there.
