I have a hand spreader battery operated that works for small stuff and a Scott’s Edge Guard from Lowe’s. Scott’s sucks as expected, doesn’t spread evenly and causes lines even after cleaning and making sure everything is working optimally.

What suggestions do ya’ll have?

My Scott's Edge Guard works fine. I only use if for seed spreading at this point. Originally used it for granular weed and feed until the board convinced me otherwise.

What exactly are you looking to do?

Fertilizer (Yard Mastery or Milorganite)

I’ve got Centipede grass. What do you have that you are regularly overseeding?

I used my spreader to put down some shade seed underneath where I have tree coverage which is at least half my yard. Fescue mix. It is somehow surviving this weather.

I’m with you, I don’t Scott anything except this dang spreader bc it was small and accessible at Lowe’s. But it’s going in the trash and Scott’s is done for good

I have an Edge Guard as well. Why is it not good for granular weed and feed? Seriously asking because I don't know....

It disperses the gradually lower than the top of the wheels. This causes a portion of the granuals to conaistently hit the wheels and fall straight down in a line as you walk.

I had a Scotts and like the OP said, it sucked. Purchased an AgriFab a couple of years ago and it is great.
