Basketball goal with hand cranked height adjustment

I have one of those basketball goals that you set in with concrete and has the hand cranked handle for height adjustments. Now for some reason it will still crank but the height will not go up or down. Before I take the whole thing a part, anyone have experience with this?

No experience with it but it sounds like a sprocket is worn or broken.

I have one, is the goal currently raised all the way up? If so, the threaded bolt could have come unscrewed from nut on top.

Try and find a cheap trailer jack at bass pro or tractor supply. You’re probably going to have to modify it though.
