Asian Jasmine and spreading

I'm finally admitting defeat and giving up on getting grass to grow under my live oaks. I was at Lowe's this morning and on impulse bought about 10 quart sized Asian Jasmine plants. Will this stuff spread similar to grass or will I need to root some and plant? Google says that it will spread up to 3 ft wide. Will it root itself eventually and spread further?

I hope so. I'm sick of the dust and mud.

Never heard this. We planted a bunch of this on a slope on one side of our pool that was too shaded for Bermuda to grow. Guess we are in the creep phase, they have runners but not growing like I thought and heard. Was planted last June.

I just finished pulling all of my jasmine up for this exact reason.
