That was me last year. I just couldn't get rid of them. I thought I nuked them, but it was probably just the natural cycle of them going into the moth stage. The birds were happy though.

Flocks of birds is definitely a sign of infestation. I hit the yard with some deltamethrin because I had it on hand. I don’t see any more, but they could have just moved on to greener pastures (literally).

They’ve been prolific in our neighborhood the last week (west central GA). I’m out of town but a buddy sprayed bifethrin for me. Sounds like it knocked them down but I will probably spray again this weekend and continue to monitor.

Liquid bifethrin is pretty cheap on the DIY sites. If you have a battery powered backpack sprayer it’s a sinch. A hand pump may be a pain depending on yard size, in which case granular is they way to go.
