I have a sunjoe SPX 3000. I mostly use it for hosing down the outside of the house and cleaning the cool deck around the pool. It takes forever to do that. Should i look at stepping up to a higher pressure gas? I'm considering renting one from Home Depot with the surface cleaner to try it out. But also want to make sure i don't hit the deck too hard and damage it. Anyone have experience?

quote:If you look at the fine print on the Sun Joe ads, you'll see that these machines put out about the same ~1 GPM flow under load as every other plug-in pressure washer, and thus provide about the same cleaning power.
SPX 3000
Gas pressure washers - especially those rated closer to 4 GPM - definitely have the potential to etch and splinter the deck if you use a too narrow (high-force) nozzle too close-up. You'll want to start by cleaning a small area and look closely for signs of etched and splintered wood.
The same is true when cleaning concrete, siding, etc., as those larger machines will easily disfigure cement.

Thats great info. I appreciate it. I think i'm going to give the home depot rental a try for cleaning the Kool deck around the pool.
