It's starting to pop up in two areas of the yard. It's not listed on the LSU ag center website. Picture this ID list it as "American Elm". Before I get the kids on their hands and knees I was curious if MSM or anything else would take care of this.

Possibly a Drake Elm sappling. Do you have one?

Same. I've lived in this house for 5 years and never seen this in spring. It's gotta be saplings from one of the trees.

I’m pretty certain it’s Drake Elms. I don’t have one on my property. And I don’t think my neighbors do either.

I have 10-15 year elm in the front yard so they would have to be carried directly over the house but it wouldn't surprise me

Looks just like the seedlings from my elm tree.

Mine's either an American or Dutch Elm tree...big...bunch of seeds this year. Those are popping up everywhere.

Supposedly in most parts of the country the American Elms are all dead or dying of Dutch Elm disease. Here in the BR area, though, i have seen a lot of healthy ones. If you google “street before and after Dutch Elm”, it’s crazy how they all died in the 60s-80s in the Midwest, especially Detroit.
