It still looked really good when we sold the house. I don't know what kind of resin it was but I wouldn't be surprised if contained carcinogens. The exterior wall that the stove and oven were against had asbestos paneling on the outside to act as a firewall. His plans say "CORRUGATED ASBESTOS PANEL". Like I said this was in 1954.

He actually might have called out the topping on the drawings. I'll take a look next time I think about it.
