Anyone familiar with Ting Electrical Monitors?

State Farm is pushing these electrical system monitors Ting (as in free for the asking) as an early fault detection and alert system.
My concern is that any data collected will be used not for but against me, as in "your house wiring shows signs of distress. Replace your wiring or we will cancel your policy."
I just don't think State Farm is providing these as a public service. Am I being too paranoid?

i don't understand how these work and their website doesn't give any details
since they plug into outlets, wouldn't you need at least one device in each circuit?
and i absolutely agree..if your house burns down and you have a year's worth of data saying you've ignored the 'fault detection' warning or whatever, no doubt they'd deny your claim

State Farm doesn’t want your house to burn down. Neither do you. It’s a tool.
read the fine print and review what the terms are. It’ll be in there.

State Farm does not. Neither do they want to pay legitimate claims. It’s sad that they used to be one of the more reputable companies but have now turned into sheisters.

Not sure where this comes from. Ive had State Farm for many years and have only had a few claims but each was handled quickly and professionally. Have you had a different experience?

You're being paranoid. Turn off the fear porn and R E L A X. It's just a tool to help prevent surging and overload.

I know many people that have had a different experience.
