I have some rural property is SW MS. There are residences within 1/4 mile and I have a power line running across my property, but I’m guessing I’m too far from a transformer and would need a new one installed. Any ideas of what they’d charge for this for residential service?

Just call the 1800 number and ask for an estimate

The question is, how far from the power line do you need power? In general, if you want power over the distance allowed by the company for one drop, you will be required to pay for the over. I don’t think you would have to pay for the transformer as one would be required anyway.

Not Entergy, but SWEPCO used to charge $1,500 for a “point of service”. Last I dealt with this was 10+ years ago though.
