AC thermostat discrepancy

I have two units. Using an IR temp laser, one thermostat reads the same as the thermometer. The other reads 1-2° less that the thermometer.
Is this discrepancy from the thermostat temp vs the thermometer acceptable?

almost all digital t-stats have a setting where you can adjust an offset so that it reads correctly if it is off a bit.

Yea. Mine has that option. But I’m wondering if the ac is in a hot spot. Bc the rooms feel comfortable that this ac goes to.

You are wondering if the AC is in a hot spot or the t-stat is in a hot spot?

There is some variance on stats. I had three I picked up for a rental and they did not all show the same temperature.
I have also had them mounted on walls that the air conditioner was sitting behind. This open area to the attic caused the wall to be several degrees hotter.when screwed to the wall.

As stated, it could be the thermostat off-set. What is the thermostat off-set? . I would be not be concerned about 1 to 2 F difference. I have 2 Accurite temperature - humidity monitors (same model) sitting right next to each other on bookshelf as I type this, one reads 75 F & 47% RH, the other 74 F & 43% RH, the house HVAC thermostat about 6 feet away is set at 74 F & is reading 40% RH.
