811 underground check in Baton Rouge - water pipes not located

I recently had an underground check for my front yard, and no one came and marked the water pipes.
Do they not check past the meter / shut off, which in my case in in the servitude between the sidewalk and the street? Am I responsible for everything past that?
TIA ...

They are only responsible up to the meter.

They only mark up to the meter. Everything after that is up to the homeowner to find.

Typically BR Water doesn't even mark their lines. If its been 48hrs since you called it in than you are good to dig. If you hit a water line on the BR Water side of your meter than they will repair the line at their expense.

Typically, how deep should a water line be from meter to the house?

You can look and see how deep the meter is in the ground, the line will likely not be any deeper than that, in my case the water line is about a foot deep
