Wilson, I will work on getting her to send me pics of her set up. She has hundreds visit her every year, never fails. Interesting hobby for sure, if not a passion.

I have seen no birds in two weeks. It is supposed to freeze here next week, so I took my last feeder down today. I’ll pick back up in the spring of next year.

I try to keep one up all winter just in case. Last year in the BR freeze/snow event, I had one drinking frequently.

Article on her hummingbird setup

Here you go. There actually was an article on her place.

quote:

I’ve been filling my feeders three times a day this past week,” Owens said. “And don’t take your feeders down. Make sure they’re clean. That’s the biggest thing.” For nearly four decades, Owens has transformed her yard into a sanctuary for migrating birds. On peak fall mornings, she says, “hundreds of hummingbirds” fill her trees and feeders, a spectacle that has turned her into a fixture among bird enthusiasts in south Louisiana.

About to take my one remaining one down, as I did not get an October Rufous.

South of Ellick and I haven’t seen anything in a month. Might as well take mine down as well.
