Toro is a big company. They own Exmark. I think they are one of the least likely to go away. That said, I'm leaning towards the Gravely ZT HD 52. I'm stuck between that and the Toro Titan 54" now. Both are very high end residential. The Gravely has a 4 year/500 hour warranty and the Kawasaki engine so that's why I'm leaning towards it.

If you've narrowed it down to those two, get the Gravely. Toro is a huge company, they're not going anywhere. I wouldn't buy anything with a Toro or Exmark (Chinese) engine. I've done business with Toro in the past and didn't like it at all. The equipment is inferior and they're good at putting lipstick on a pig. Gravely is strong in this region but not so much nationally. They're not going anywhere's either but they have strong pockets here & there across the country.

I agree the gravely is a good unit for the money and they use proven engines Kohler or Kawasaki.
The Toro engine does come from China, built for Toro / Exmark. I knew this as a dealer. It kind of it is what it is engine to keep the cost of the unit down.

Money wise acre of less $3k will get you a decent unit under Gravely, Cub, Hustler, and if you love Toro the dealers have units around $3k with the Kawasaki or Kohler on them.

Lighter weight people which are older do not like the my ride as it does feel unique. Heavier set people seem to think it is worth the money.

I also spoke with friends that work for MTD. They do not make the engines for Toro and they do not make the Toro Zero turns. They made the lawn tractors years ago for Toro that is about it. They also do not make John Deere or the Husqvarna products in home centers.
