What was the thread about?

Some self proclaimed libertarians ranted about police and America and other crazy stuff on social media, and killed two police officers. I thought it fit perfectly with the discussions of political views and people acting violently due to rhetoric from both sides.

About 6 months ago. I just saw the story, and hadn't seen it discussed on the board until I posted it.

ETA: They were involved in the Cliven Bundy protest/stand off.

Chicken, I didn't whack the thread but I saw it. It had every appearance of being a troll. In fact, I suggested as much to FT in the thread. I'm guessing that why it got whacked.

I posted it and people reacted predictably. That wasn't a troll; I just let the board make my point.

And that meant it should be whacked? A thread that causes discussion about why some groups are blamed for things when others aren't would have been the inevitable result. Why get rid of that thread?

I didn't whack it. Not because I didn't think it was a troll. I did. I left it in deference to your long tenure here on td.com.

However, if you had come out and made your point, whatever that point happened to be, and then debated it with other posters I imagine the thread would still be on the board.

That's pretty much the definition of trolling.

Fine, fine. It was a troll thread, but it was by definition not shitty.

A shitty troll thread would be one that didn't work. Mine did.

Ooh, didn't know that counted for anything. I wonder if 2005 is long enough.

To be fair, it was pretty transparent. We were discussing that same story and the comparisons in another thread.
