and in this situation, i made a clear point, showed proof that ESPN actually was doing a shitty job at analyzing the game.
They said a walk on was the starting linebacker, and listed him as a weakness in Oregon attacking the LSU defense.
That was an accurate and valid criticism of ESPN and the people who wrote that article. they deserved to be made fun of, and the thread is funny.
And even if it wasn't, that's a dumb reason to anchor a topic. That's why this message board exists.

Why should anyone give a frick about an insignificant game that will most likely be forgotten by millions the second it is over? The point is that people do.
Why should 33 million page views happen on a college team's website that isn't even the official website of the university? Quite simply, it just does. People care. And people want to talk about perceived slights against their alma mammy. So the frick what?
Get off your high horse tastemaker. This board exists for the very reasons you're scoffing at.
And it's your job as an admin to remove inappropriate, flaming, inadequately named, and irrelevant topics from the board, not to play taste police and administer your agenda on how you feel like our fan base should be viewed to the outside world.
This board is as close to a meritocracy as exists. If a post sucks, then it's going to fall by the wayside. No amount of bumping will keep it aside. If it sucks badly, people will make fun of it. And the poster will be shamed into fighting or conceding. That is the way of the message board.
And before you play holier than thou about what it takes to be an admin on this board, remember who you're talking to, and remember that there was a time where i was very involved in the runnings of this board. so don't give me any of that shite.
Unless i missed out on a Chicken directive, you shouldn't just be whacking posts just because they happen to be targeting a media outlet. Slandering, sure you step in. But valid criticism? In this situation, you just flat out whiffed.
