Why has my attempt to edit my posting generated multiple post

I attempted to generate an answer to another TD poster. During the process my initial response post underwent multiple editing attempts on my part.

The problem? Each time I edited my post and saved it TD created another post. The result of which I now have multiple versions (10) of my edited post screened.

And why did I suddenly experience a very slow computer response during my editing attempts?

What is going on here?
