What is the purpose for closing poli board and opening an election board?

And why is tiger rant closed in game days? Is it the amount of traffic and posts? Is there a technical reason for it? Curious minds want to know. Thanks.

From what I've gathered it's for the traffic and melt afterwards. It's hard to bump threads on a dead board.

The Score Board always exists behind the scenes, it's just not open to regular posters most of the time. I'm sure there's a similar process for the Poliboard/Election Board. I think the main reason they close the Rant is because of the many reaction threads that pop up during a game, with such productive titles as "Wow!" and "WTF?" Having a separate board makes it easy for the admins to clear these out afterwards.
