I accidentally wasted my 5000th post. Can you reset my post count by 1 so that I can redo it?

at this point you just have to hope a recent thread you have posted in gets deleted.

So this would have been your 5,001 post... and you asked admin to reset by 1 which would bring you back to 5,000... which it looks like they did. 
I think what you meant to say was "reset back to 4,999"
