The Outdoor Board...I get it.

Before any posters blow up over this...please let me explain that I'm not talking about the posters!
There are so many topics and they are being run through as fast as topics on the OT. I do not think that that was the intent of the Outdoor Board when it was made. If it's moving that fast because it's so popular then, great, but make it more manageable to follow threads.
This comes down to:
1) Posting threads that make sense for the Outdoor Board.
2) Posting threads that insist upon discussion.
3) Posters posting elaborately in threads.
Again, I'm not hating on anyone, it's just that the board is so fast I find that it seems to not be meeting its purpose. I understand it has its own community. I like that and am all for it, but there just needs to be some sort of control on what the board is for.
Thank you.

are you referring to your thread that is gone already?
1. its not really outdoor board material in the way that you worded it.
2. change the title so that people know WTF you are talking about (MSY) (sensitive sampling material)
3. ask this on the OT in simpler wording and you will already have an answer

I'm just talking in general, but I will take those considerations into account next time.

Some of the OB posters are very very very protective of it.

It serves a specific purpose, of which you apparently have little interest.
All boards are cliquish.

Has little to nothing to do with the problem here.

There's a way to be specific and useful versus threads and posts that lead to shallow levels of discussion/debate.
*Not saying the posters are shallow, just that instead of throwing a rock in the water they are skipping stones. One's funner, but one makes a bigger impact.
And it's very telling in the thread titles. The titles of those threads wouldn't pass on any board that gets that much traffic.

Why do you care? There are certain boards I don't go to because I have no interest in what is going on there. Therefore I don't care how it is conducted or maintained. If you asked a question and didn't get many responses then maybe you worded it poorly.

Good question. I care because I DO want to go there and learn about things I don't know already and peruse threads that deal with the part of the out of doors that I am interested in.
It gets hard when the titles are messy and the posters just skim the surface of something and move onto something else.

It's pretty much the nature of the OB. Threads are very short in general.

So do you think coming to the Help Board to complain about it is the best course of action to get legit responses ? I know I speak for most of the regulars when I say if we can help in anyway that we will.

I don't need it. That's not what this is about. I've noticed it for a while.
I'm not going to take the bait.

And they still haven't helped.
