I have been around this board for a few years and have figured out most of the slang and acronyms but this one has evaded me.

I see the guidelines say no excessive IMing. I give up. WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

It's all about being chatty and off topic in a thread...eg, in a thread about a shooting in Tigerland, two dumbasses start chatting about their day.

IM is a throwback acronym that means Instant Message.
