That thread you just started is bullshite and a clear example of what the OP is talking about. I like golf but it sucks that good topics get bumped from the first page of the board so quickly because there are 10 golf threads.

Because very few want to go the More Sports Board to read about your experiences on the golf course.
If all of a sudden there were 10 threads a day about pickup basketball or men's softball leagues it would clutter the board and add nothing to it. But I'm probably on your side. I think at this point that a golf board is wanted and needed if there is that much interest in each others golf game.

There is no way a thread like this should be on the MSB. If people did this for every sport they played the board would be retarded. It should be primarily for current sports news discussion. Chit chat about our personal life sports experiences belong on the OT.

That would establish a great precedent. Anytime a group of people wish to receive a board, allow the "people" to spam a current message board to pressure the Admin to create the new board sought.

the thread idea was dumb, but it evolved into some good discussion about a particular rule where i'm sure some people learned a thing or two.

This.
Golf is an anomoly because its one of the only sports that regular guys from 7 to 70 play. The mere fact that a thread started at 1000 on a Tuesday went 5 pages in an hour should show you how prominent golf is on this board. If the admins think adding one more board would water down the quality of this site, then ill have to trust and respect their intentions. I'm of the school of thought, no harm, no foul, and I really don't see any harm in adding a golf board.
