I would like to revisit the idea of a Notification System

A facebook/google+ style notification system could really enhance the dialogue on this board.
The "Posted on 9/9/11 at 11:02 a.m. to Chicken" makes things easy to keep up with in terms of who is responding to who and what was said. Adding a little red notification number up top by my posts or something would go hand with this feature. Not emails or anything, just a little notification that goes to a page that shows new responses to your posts. (not just a thread but specific posts)
Also, it could potentially increase the use of the Like (and future dislike) feature if you got notifications of when people liked your posts as well.

Just if I post something in a thread and I forget, or it is a really long thread that becomes difficult to keep up with, I will know right where to jump in and find the relevant response.
Right now I can use ctrl+F on each page per thread if I really want. It's just a more efficient version of that.
