Embedded tweets not loading for me

It is not just on this site, so I think it’s a combination of DuckDuck, WebKit with iOS27, and then X ruining its ability to be shared to others who do not use the app or aren’t on their own private device when viewing.

Opening up the tweet in another window eventually plays it (not always with sound), but you then have the pure X issue to deal with the pop up asking to install app immediately and then any time you tap the screen again including accidental taps or even the play button. The media in the tweets now hide the direct links to any images or videos in the tweet and instead is a generic media link that includes a prompt to launch App Store to install the app. It got so bad I created a shortcut to automatically convert tweets into nitter dot net links, but now X has sent nitter a cease and desist forcing it down.
