Do you have to have a paid email account

to register on Tigerdroppings now. One of my friends were trying to register and it told him that.

You don't have to have a "paid" email account - but you can't use the anyone can sign up free accounts like hotmail and gmail.

You could register a domain on GoDaddy for $10/year and get a free Google Apps email account.

is that serious? I don't know ANYONE with a paid email account. I don't even know how to sign up for an email account through my isp.
