Weird nerve symptoms?

Last year into early this year I had pulled my left lower back 4 different times squatting. As an avid powerlifter, I wasn’t too happy because each time I was kept out of the gym for 14+ days. I started doing lower back strengthening exercises, such as hyper extensions, good mornings, etc. I also started wearing a belt when squatting and deadlifting. I haven’t had any issues since. Fast forward to the beginning of May and I started having a sharp stabbing pain in my left foot every day after the gym, especially leg day. It recently went away, and I mean as recent as last week. Everything seemed back to normal until Wednesday. I was having dinner with a relative that was in town and when we got up to leave I noticed my left quad was numb. I thought that maybe it had fallen asleep. Well it’s now Friday and it’s still numb. There’s no pain. My lower back doesn’t hurt, just typical soreness and weakness from doing deads yesterday. Could all of this weirdness be tied into my lower back as nerve issues? And if so, any recommendations on how to fix this? I’ve never had nerve issues, so it kind of bothers me. Btw, I’m 37, 200 lbs, about 5’10, and lift frequently, about 5-6 days a week.

Could be a pinched nerve on the affected side or LINK
I love the AKA skinny “pants syndrome.” It could be the work out belt you started wearing constricting the nerve. You might try working out without the belt and only wear it if your back issues return. But don’t over-do the belt.

Certainly could be. Chances are you’ve got something going on in the low back but have enough core strength and all to be supporting it for the most part so it hasn’t been terrible yet. Looks like you’ve had a couple signs in that direction with the multiple strains. That’s how mine went before I completely blew out a disc looking back on it. Might wanna get it checked out.
