For those that use them, what weight are you using? I have a 30lb "go ruck" type plate in a backpack for rucking but curious about the weighted vest.

I use a 20# plate vest. There are some with small sandbags so you can adjust the weight too. If I'm wanting heavier than 20#, then I'll use a dip belt.

I have a 5.11 vest. 20 or 14 lbs is what I mainly use but I do have the 30 option if I’m feeling frisky.

I guess plate vest may be the better term. I'll do some googling.

How has your condor held up.

Not paying the absurd price of a 5.11

It's very well made and I haven't had any issues with it.

Condor Sentry

I did cut those loops off that are in the front and shoulders. They are not needed and if you use it wearing a tank top or shirtless, it'll constantly scratch the shite out of your arms/shoulders.

As far as weights go, I bought some of those 2.5lb plates that are used for the cheap adjustable DBs from Walmart/Academy and taped them together using duct tape.

Depends on how strong you are, and what you want to use it for. I got the Rogue 40 pound on the advice of 777. Great vest and looked cool, but I wasn’t ready for 40. It wore my neck and shoulders the frick out. I wanted to be able to run in it, too, but the way it fits made it extremely hard to run. It swung side to side too much, wasn’t quiet.

So I borrowed my brother’s 20 pounder that he got from Academy, and it was perfect. I started using it right at the beginning of the quarantine when the weather was nice, and I was able walk around my neighborhood (and sprint up hills) with it for at least an hour.

Both of my shoulders are fricked, so it’s hard for me to use dumbbells for excercises where they just hang by my side. The 20 pound vest was perfect for doing body weight squats, lunges, step ups, whatever. I wound up having to do more reps the stronger I got, but I got where I could wear it doing just about anything outside. Working in the yard, riding the bike with my kids, etc...

Big fan of the weighted vest. The 20 pounder was perfect for me and what I wanted to do. But I was coming off a shoulder surgery and was in pretty terrible shape. If you’re already in good shape and have a strong lower half, the 40 may work better for you. But like some other guys have mentioned, a lot of these are versatile and you can remove and add weight as needed.
