Update:


Met with a running coach/PT tonight. He looked at gait analysis, shoes, arches, pronation, etc, etc, etc. Everything looks fine to him. Advised to keep slowly working up to greater distance and longer times. Oddly, he discouraged ice or anti-inflammatories and recommended letting the inflammation do its thing instead.

I’ll try that next week when I start the 10K program.

There is a link between shin splints and ankle instability.

Get yourself a compression ankle sleeve. Will help tremendously.

Doing the thera band exercises every day on both legs. I have the compression sleeve for my calves already. Will look for one for the ankle as well. Thanks.
