That’s not really anything new
There’s some baseline risk of sudden cardiac death in basically any high-level athlete, and there’s an absolute metric frickton of professional soccer players around the world
If anything, have probably seen an improvement in outcomes as there were some very high profile, televised deaths (Foe, Feher, Puerta) in the early 2000s
