That’s my point. If he can get up and down from a chair. He can squat

Serious answer to OP: don’t listen to people on the internet, go see a professional. A PT can help here
No you can’t do anything crazy, but there’s absolutely small stuff you can do. If you can, try to see someone that can walk you through doing some BFR, cause that will probably give you the best chance to limit what kind of muscle loss you will have while you can’t do any legitimate muscle loading

I can run with a pulled hamstring, doesn't make it smart and it greatly increases my chance of furthering the injury.
And were talking about his spine, not a pulled muscle. I'd prefer to not have a fricked up spine at the cost of not lifting for 90 days, that's just me though.

You can 100% run with a pulled hamstring. You just can’t sprint. Bad example
And I get what you’re saying. My point is he doesn’t need to lay on bed rest for 3 months. There’s a lot of grey area between doing nothing and doing things that out extensive stress to your spine

Who said this?

Of course, but there's nothing gray about loading up your midline which is what I originally replied to.

So all leg exercises load the spine. Got it

To some degree, yeah. Even an air squat

You’re not wrong, but so does that mean he can’t get up and down from a chair? That’s a squat

Without further injuring his spine? Maybe, but that's more of a crucial function to daily life than choosing to participate in exercises.
What kind of gotcha game are you trying to play? I originally responded to a poster who routinely gives bad or uniformed advice that "leg exercises" were probably ok with a fricked up spine. That is advice I'd so general and incomplete it's borderline irresponsible for him to say it. Half baked shite like that on the internet is the reason some people end up hurt because they're dumb too (not saying the OP is) and listen to it because it's what they want to hear.

Fair point. I’m more just trying to make it known that OP absolutely can do things. I gave my advice earlier and that’s all that can be said without any type of assessment

Try getting in a pool. Anything from swimming to water weights, etc.
Don’t do anything that feels or seems like it could be even borderline putting strain on the spine.
