Had it in my right foot for a long, long time, tried all kind of stuff. Finally found Hoka Bondi 6 shoes, got them a size too big and added a pair of SofSole insoles, it was like a miracle occurred.
The Bondi 6’s are gone and Hoka is up to Bondi 8 now but they are still working, also one big adjustment I made was a pair of Hoka Recovery slides to wear in my house, I had to to stop walking on any hard surface without some kind of soft shoe.

Custom orthotics from Dr. It took several attempts to get them right. Had them for around 5-6 years. I keep them in my work boots.

Better shoes definitely helps. I just went at it with my thumbs just pressing and massaging right on the bottom of my foot. They make a metal ball that you can freeze and use for muscle aches. That works too. I would do it morning and night. Untucked sheet’s definitely helps. Or stay on your side.

Be careful about getting a cortisone shot. My orthopedic would not give me one even as I begged for it. He said I would risk a tear of the tendon and then it would be surgery. I bought a brace from CVS I slept in that would stretch the tendon. It took me over 6 months to get over it. Terrible.

Hoka shoes with high arch insoles and Oofos flip flops helped me out Big time.
i second the oofos, but not all oofos are made the same. try on several, but the ones with the most cushion were the ugly af slides.
believe me, they're life changing excellence. if you can't feel it RIGHT away when you try it on, try a different kind until you find the right ones.
