Morning Weight: 196.2 lbs

Workout
Stationary Bike: 4 x 20 Minutes
Pushups: 4 x 50
BW Squats: 4 x 40
Sit-Ups: 4 x 25
Lunges: 4 x 10

Notes
This was a great workout. I started out yesterday feeling really low on energy, but thanks to TideSaint saying that thing about hitting the wall, I felt a renewed sense of energy. It actually felt like I got stronger towards the end of my workout.

The weight made more sense on this day. I think it's all the sodium and alcohol retaining weight. It will drop back off with a few days of discipline.

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 strips turkey bacon, coffee w/ creamer and sugar
Snack: None
Lunch: Salad Mix w/ bell pepper, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, italian dressing, sunflower Kernels
Snack: 3 Old Fashioneds
Dinner: Breaded Chicken and Mashed Potatoes
Dessert: None

Notes
My wife wanted to drink so I thought that I may as well join her. I didn't really eat much other than my 3 meals, so I had 3 Old Fashioned w/ Old Forester 100 Proof Boubon. Still got quite a bit left in both the woodford reserve and Old Forester. I will try to not drink this next week, and if I want to I'll have one on Saturday. When I put my mind to it, abstaining from alcohol doesn't seem to be a big issue. I added 150 extra calories due to the bike and bodyweight workout. I am sure that I burned more than that in reality.

Other Notes
I am not worried about that high weight. It is Sunday right now and my weight this morning was 194, and that's with retaining some weight from the alcohol last night. I have to be better than last week.

The early games yesterday were pretty boring. There was a drive and a half where it seemed like Cuse might actually make the Clemson game interesting but that changed in a Hurry. TCU/Oklahoma was close for a half and then the Sooners took off. Same with Nebraska and Ohio State. Nebraska looked good for 2 quarters....then they didn't. Mid games not competetive, Late games not really that competitive either. It sucks that kentucky/UGA was postponed because I think that Kentucky really has the ability to make that interesting.

Finley looked really impressive, but I definitely still think that that starting spot is Brennan's. If they were at all entertaining the idea of Finley hopping into that role I think they would have had him throw it more than 20 times.

Just eating breakfast right now. Studied for my stats test yesterday and I feel pretty confident. Once my coffee kicks in and I am more alert I will take the test and try to relax the rest of the Sunday. I am about halfway done with Bag of Bones. It's rated as one of King's worst novels but I like it.

Have a great day!

Cut down on the carbs and sugar if you really want to drop weight and feel good

I'm not really one for keto, but I definitely agree on the sugars. I am a big sugary treats guy and I know it's not great. I appreciate the feedback.

Morning Weight: 194.4 lbs

Workout
None - Rest Day

Notes
Good rest day. I was pretty sore from the long stationary bike workout with the additional volume. Just bodyweight workouts, but it still makes me feel a little something the next day.

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 strips turkey bacon, coffee w/ creamer and sugar
Snack: Sauteed Mushrooms
Lunch: None
Snack: Greek Yogurt w/ Blueberries
Dinner: Breaded Chicken, Mashed Potatoes
Dessert: Pumpkin Pie w/ Milk

Notes
I think adding moving to a goal of 1.5 pounds per week to 1 pound per week has helped the past couple of days. I feel like I am getting enough food now, whereas when my number was 1770 I always felt like I needed just a little something more.

I ate some sauteed mushrooms at around 11 and then the blueberries and yogurt around 1, so I guess both of those combined were my lunch, but they were more like snacks. I made pumpkin pie, really for just something to do, but it is a nice dessert. Very high in calories, but delicious. A piece a night won't kill me.

Other Notes
Well, this post is a little late today and a lot of that is due to last night. to give a little TMI I'd been having stomach issues the entire day (or a lack thereof, even after a couple cups of coffee), but I just thought it would resolve itself. It may still resolve itself but I'm now wondering when.

I woke up around 1 AM drenched in sweat. I thought maybe it was too hot in the bedroom, but I looked at my wife and she seemed like she was fine. So then I took stock of the rest of me and I was having this intense stomach cramping. I got up to use the bathroom and nothing would happen. Then, after sitting there for a few minutes, I got extremely light headed and felt like I was going to pass out. I fell on to the floor, and called for my wife to let her know what was going on. She got me some water and I felt a bit better after lying there. So I stayed put on the bathroom floor until around 4 am and then crawled back into bed.

Not sure what is going on, but I am currently drinking some coffee waiting on something, anything, to happen.

In other news, I watched the Bengals game yesterday and boy, Joe Burrow and his offensive skill guys are really out there alone. He throws what should be the game winning TD pass with 66 seconds left, and in 3 plays the Browns are in the end zone with a W in their pocket. Got to hand it to Baker, he was on fire in the second half.

I took my stats test and got an 83. Not great. I know it's a B, and my class grade is still an A, but I don't like making Bs on tests. That just tells me I should have focused harder.

I got some errands I have to run today, as well as the start of schoolwork for the week. In my planner I have agility drills and sprints as the workout of choice, but that depends on my stomach.

That's all I got. Have a good one!

Great job man. Keep it up.

Your sugar and creamer in the coffee kills me though. You are taking in more carbs, in just your coffee, than I do in my entire breakfasts. By cutting that out, you’d be losing almost 100g of carbs per week.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. There have been days when I binged where I've been kinda embarrassed to update, but this whole thread is here for accountability purposes.

I hear you on the creamer. I tried doing black coffee for a while and I just didn't like it. I like the act of drinking coffee, though. Maybe I'll try to just to do a tablespoon in the AM instead of 2. That cuts out 5 grams right there. Maybe I'll switch to a 1/2 tsp of sugar as well. I can at least try it for a bit, because you're right, the sugar is flat out not good, especially in something that lacks viscosity like coffee. The speed at which it hits my gut in itself is a bit of a hazard.

Have you considered switching from coffee to tea? Drinking black tea w/o cream & sugar might be easier for you than black coffee. Still warm, still contains caffeine, still gets things moving in the morning.

I tried it. It just doesn't do it for me.

Check out zero carb (or maybe one carb) almond milk as your creamer substitute. Then cut the sugar in half. My guess is you won’t even notice a difference - or not much of one.

I noticed big time. Almond milk creamer hurts my stomach and tastes so different. Now regular almond milk is delicious.

I might actually try this depending on price at grocery store. I will check it out this coming Sunday. I appreciate the tip.

Morning Weight: 192.6 lbs

Workout
Stationary Bike: 30 Minutes

Notes
The original plan was to do some sprints and agility drills, but I was having stomach issues all day. I took some medicine to relieve it around 1 PM, so I didn't want to chance being at a park when it kicked in. I just stayed on the bike for half an hour. Not much, but better than nothing.

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 strips turkey bacon, coffee w/ creamer and sugar
Lunch: Spinach Salad w/ bell pepper, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, italian dressing
Snack: Yogurt w/ Strawberries and Blackberries
Dinner: Salmon, Brown Rice, Carrots, GF Rolls
Dessert: 10g Choc Chips

Notes
Pretty good diet day. My stomach had me distracted for a large portion of the day so I wasn't all that concerned about food. The dinner I made was really good, and as you notice, I had seconds. Even with my stomach feeling so bloated, I wanted to get my fill. The GF rolls were surprisingly good. GF bread is usually not great at all, so this was a nice surprise.

Other Notes
I just had some success with my stomach issue. I guess the medicine took just took a bit longer than the box said. Although I still don't feel completely new, I feel a little better.

I am drinking my coffee with only 1 tbsp of creamer and 1/2 sugar of coffee. It is definitely not as sweet, but if I'm being honest, I don't drink coffee for the taste. I drink it because I'm addicted to caffeine. This Sunday I am going to look for the zero carb almond milk as a creamer substitute. I hear what everyone is saying about the sugar, and it makes sense. It's not good to ingest sugar in it's pure form. It's supposed to be attached to the fibers of fruits and vegetables, not easily laden with a spoon.

Got some schoolwork to do today. I am on schedule with all of that, so not a big deal. Today is an off day exercise wise, which is good because I want my stomach issues to be resolved before I get back into it.

That's about all I got. Have a good one!

This is awesome. I'm only on the second page but I feel like I'm reading a book like The Martian. Love the other notes section at the end.

Was I the only one looking for a dong reflection in that post run scale shot?

Thanks! I like to include stuff not about working out in my posts. I look at is sort of a less personal diary.

And I've been taking those scale shots long enough to know that standing straight up is a bad idea.

Morning Weight: 192.6 lbs

Workout
None - Off Day

Notes
I think my stomach issues are slowly returning to normal. Was a good day to not be outside, considering the temperature.

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 strips turkey bacon, coffee w/ creamer and sugar
Lunch: Salad Mix w/ bell pepper, tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, italian dressing, sunflower kernels
Snack: GF Pizza slize, Greek Yogurt w/ blackberries
Dinner: Jambalaya

Notes
Good diet day (even though this morning I was back up to 193). I love cooking and eating jambalaya, and I also like not being obligated to cook in the evenings, so I am pretty happy that we will be eating on this for the next 2 days at least.

Really easy to make. I use the recipe from the Cajun Ninja. It always comes out good. pain in the arse having to weigh the chicken and vegetables, though.

I have halved my creamer and sugar intake during my morning coffee. It feels....okay.

My wife made her GF pizza for lunch, so I had a slice of that. It's GF as well as vegan, but it is so calorie dense. I think an entire 12 inch frozen pizza is around 1300 calories, which seems a bit much considering the ingredient list. I didn't think I'd like it, but it is pretty good.

Other Notes
I hopped on the bike Monday, and decided to start a new shown on Netflix. I read good things about The Queen's Gambit so I decided to give it a shot. I turned on the TV, loaded Netflix onto the screen, and whaddyaknow, it's the first thing that pops up. I turned it on and boy I was HOOKED.

The main character, Beth, is pretty amazing, and the supporting cast is awesome as well. I wish they would have had shown more of the janitor towards the end, but that's okay. It makes me want to read the novel on which it was based.

We are being afforded the opportunity to go over what we missed on our statistics test and correct our answers. For every question we got wrong, we can submit the question, the correct answer, why we got it wrong, and proof that we understand the concept and get up to half points for each question added back to our original score. This could put me at an A for the test, and bump my overall grade towards the mid 90s, which gives me a bit of a margin of safety.

Every other class is pretty easy. Accounting has a lot of memorization, and managerial is a little tougher than financial, but not at all as unintuitive as statistics. Hopefully I finish with a 4.0.

Woke up last night at 1 with more stomach pain. If it wasn't so intermittent I would swear I had appendicitis. I am not sure what is going on, but I was up from 1 to 3 AM. The pain subsided, but my worry did not. If it happens again I'm gonna make an appointment with my primary.

Going to go on a bike ride today, and then study for my QuickBooks certification. I am pretty confident that I will pass, but I need to be sure. We have to go to a testing center to take it, and I don't care for that place.

That's all I got. Have a good one!

Morning Weight: 193 lbs

Workout
Cycling: 29 Miles - 2:07:16

Notes
This was a great ride considering it was my first actual bike ride in a long time. It's a pain to have to ride 12 miles just to get to the Greenbelt, but it is always worth it when I get down there. Something about riding on the greenbelt and being in downtown Boise just feels right. Maybe it's because we lived around that area for close to 2 years and it started to feel like home. The trees are more mature, the buildings are older, the infrastructure is more bike friendly, and the river is beautiful. I should take advantage of it while I can, because snow will becoming before the year is up.

The ride itself was not difficult. I just took it slow and tried to enjoy the scenery. My legs were tight afterward, but that's because I didn't stretch beforehand.

Diet
Breakfast: 2 eggs, 3 strips turkey bacon, coffee w/ creamer and sugar
Snack: Gala Apple, Blackberries
Lunch: None
Snack: Blue Powerade
Dinner: Jambalaya, Gluten Free Roll, Milk
Dessert: Pumpkin Pie, Milk, Tea

Notes
I am not really sure why I didn't eat lunch. I ate a snack around 10 (the apple) and then around 11 (the blackberries), but then I wasn't hungry until I was about to go on my bike ride around 2 PM. So I went on it, and when I got back it was around 4:15. So I drank a 30 oz powerade, hopped in the shower, and then did some late homework. By the time I was done with that it was 5:40 and I was ready for supper. So by the time I did eat my last meal for the night I had 2k calories left.

The pumpkin pie is over. We ate the last piece. I probably won't make pumpkin pie again until next October.

Other Notes
I have my Quickbooks certification exam this morning. I studied for about 2 hours, just to be sure that I won't need to retake it. It doesn't matter with what score I pass, just that I pass. It's required for my accounting class, so I'd just have to retake it and retake until I passed. Eventually, though, since it's a certification I'd have to start paying out of my own pocket after the 3rd attempt.

I got ahead on my schoolwork yesterday so all I have today is that cert. exam and to make some money doing a little doordash. Tomorrow is school heavy so I should enjoy this.

I got a call from a guy I spoke with a month ago about a job in which I was extremely interested. It's a company up here that distributes food to all the school district's cafeterias. As some may know, the Treasure Valley is growing at a rapid pace, so businesses' that have contracts with the public sector are doing just fine. It's an old warehouse job, but the pay is rather high and I've done my research on the company and they seem awesome. I didn't get the job the first time around, but they just had another spot open up on the same shift with the same pay grade. I told him I was very interested and he said that he wasn't entirely sure yet, but as soon as he gets the green light he can offer me the position before putting it on the job boards. I remember when he told me I wasn't hired I was pretty upset, but I kept a cool head and a positive demeanor because I thought "you never know, maybe in the future.." Well it turns out that was a good idea.

If I don't get that position, due to some other circumstance, I am starting at Amazon on the 8th of November. I would much rather work at the place I mentioned above, but right now Doordash just isn't cutting it. We are getting along fine, but I need a steady check. I am ready to graduate so I can really take the load off my wife's shoulders. We have talked about it, and she doesn't mind working, and actually prefers if I don't because I tend to take up more chores around the house and do all the cooking, but I want to get back to work. It's nice to be leisurely about what I'm doing, but that's not real life.

Anyway, that's where my mind is for the day. Hope everyone has a good one!
