It's more complicated to brace for higher reps. For a single, you inhale, try to use your stomach to blow your belt out and keep it like that way until the lift is done.

Higher rep sets, you have to be able to exhale, inhale and regain a brace mid set at least 2-3 times.

Part of my issue is that if I get a really strong brace, I can only do that 3 times or so before I get light headed. Just a maximal brace vs the belt should bug out your eyes at any weight.
