Lyme Disease and CIRS

Was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Treated for a year, now just diagnosed with CIRS after I didn’t get better.
Anybody know anything about it, how to treat?

What kind of treatment did you do?
I was diagnosed about 5 years back (I believe). Treated with doxycycline for a while which helped but also destroyed my gut micro biome over time and caused other issues. I didn’t really want to stay on it long term and the doctor stopped prescribing because he levels I had were so low. However, it would creep back up over time- couldn’t completely cure it.
Ask your doctor about disulfiram. It’s a drug for alcoholics but was found to be very good at wiping out Lyme bacteria. I have taken that recently and it seems to be effective, but I need to go back to the doc and see where I’m at.
Ultimately diet was a big thing for me in helping to fight it. I do a keto/carnivore/low carb approach and it has worked wonders for it- Some damage seems to be permanent but almost all symptoms in general have cleared up for the most part.

I treated the Lyme for a year with Flagyl. I did try disulfiram but it was too hard at that moment.
The CIRS is a new diagnosis and is probably the reason I haven’t been able to get over the Lyme.
I’ve also been on keto for a while as I find I only feel somewhat decent when my carb intake is low. Very good advice.

I’ve been on and off several antibiotics for 6 years for Lyme disease. Mine is chronic so it flares up occasionally and the infections disease dr I use has prescribed probably half a dozen different antibiotics to clear it up when it flares up.

I don’t believe in the post Lyme inflammation disorder diagnosis.
I just don’t think that’s what happens.
If you’re symptomatic, it’s because you still have an active infection.
If you have Lyme, you probably have a form of Bartonella and Babesia as well. That’s a pernicious combination, Bartonella can turn off your immune response, and Babesia is just difficult to get rid off.
Testing isn’t reliable either, so doctors can miss it.
In both cases, the standard treatments aren’t very effective either.
For Babesia, you could try Primaquine. For Bartonella Rifampin and Methylene Blue could work.
If you’re interested, go on pubmed, and search for Doctor Ying Zhang. He’s at Hopkins and he’s done good work over the last few years identifying compounds that work against these infections.
