Im not a beginner at all but got in fantastic shape doing his diet and version of his weights program. If I remember correctly, he uses reverse pyramid sets on core lifts. I do like that approach

I also love 531. I actually think it may be better starting as an intermediate than beginner, especially if you need refine technique on core lifts

Kino, 531 , LG are all fine for lean gains after intermediate but eventually you have to add bodyweight

I'm no expert like these other guys, but what I am an expert on is struggling to find the right routine/philosophy for me. About 3-4 months ago I went down the Dr. Mike Israetel/Renaissance Periodization rabbit hole. For some reason he makes the most sense to me.
I followed his "beginner" programming videos, I think it's a 4 or 5 part series. I needed a hard reset and I started out extremely modest, no ego. Followed his advice and picked around 8 exercises and did 1 set per, 3x a week for a couple of weeks. Then added a second set to some and so on. It's only been about 3 months but now I'm feeling better and more motivated than I have in a long time.
I don't think it is anything groundbreaking, it's just a lot of programs and people are bodybuilding focused. I'm 46 and do not inspire to be a bodybuilder. Want to be healthy, strong AF and look better is my main goal. I may be more motivated right now than I have been in 15 or 20 years.

Just an fyi, RP and dr Mike are pure bodybuilding. Most of the programs you see us recommending around here are more hybrid strength/bodybuilding and not purely hypertrophy focused like RP.

Thanks! I should have clarified, I have conformed what I'm doing using what I've digested on this forum, and others. Loads of info. I always tell myself no matter what "just get strong AF on the damn exercises" lmao. It works

usually if we push for performance increases...we tend to find what we are looking for when it comes to health, aesthetics etc so long as diet is decent.
