I’ve been quiet lately.

Most of my time has been spent working on the fourth edition of Greyskull LP and otherwise figuring things out.

What began as an update to an old book has turned into something much larger than I expected.

This is usually how things go with me.

Somewhere in that process I started thinking hard about the last twenty years of my life and work.

Greyskull began as a place to explore ideas and scratch the itches in my soul.

A playground for my mind, my curiosities, and my desire to help others.

It was never supposed to become a cage.

I love strength training. I always will. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

But I've also spent those same years studying people.

How we think.
Why we do what we do.
Why some people continue moving when life gets ugly while others seem to disappear inside of it.

I've studied state. Language. Faith. Fear. Identity.

I've lived a little bit too.

Those of you who've done Coaching with me or followed and read my stuff for years know this.

I've never fit in the fitness box and I've rarely played well with others who do.

Last year I published STRIP.

On the surface, it's a fat loss book.

Anyone who has actually read it knows it is about considerably more than losing body fat.

STRIP was probably the first time in a long time that I let myself follow an idea wherever I wanted it to go without worrying much about whether it belonged inside the traditional Greyskull box.

I loved writing that book.

And lately I've felt an increasingly strong pull to keep going in that direction.

So I started a new podcast.

It's called Strength Beyond Muscle.

I announced it yesterday on Instagram and I'm recording the first episode this week.

This is not another fitness podcast.

We'll certainly talk about training.

We'll also talk about God.
Life.
Failure.
Fear.
Getting back up.

What actually separates the weak from the strong.

I have no interest in polishing this thing to death before I begin.

I'm going to sit down behind a microphone and talk.

We'll see where it goes.

I'll send another email when the first episode is live.
