And I would imagine that was the best 5 you have ever done right.
I didn't realize how dog-arse tired I was the last few months until I ran this morning with a human blood sugar

Oh I bet.
There were signs with my DIL, but we just had zero experience this. I'm certain your fitness level and diet masked this for some time.

Met with the diabetes education counselor today. She seemed very happy with my numbers; I've been in range for 92% of the time I've been wearing the Dexcom and have an average BG of 120 in that time. My biggest hurdle has been trying to time the insulin for different types of meals. I've noticed if my meal has more fiber, protein, or fats in addition to the carbs, it messes with the timing and rate of the spike. Listening to Juice Box has helped but I'm still fooling around with dosing the bolus to align the peak of the insulin and the spike from the food breaking down.

quote:That’s always an issue. You are attacking this the right way. The timing and learning when to prebolus will come with experience as long as you are paying attention.

Congrats on picking things up so quickly. I know your body has to feel so much better.

I understand it was being asked by running, but is this just out of the blue? Do they have any idea how this could just show up?
Posted on 8/4/25 at 4:24 pm to Odysseus32
Yep, totally out of the blue. The only thing I can figure is that summer running triggered it because of the combined stress of increasing mileage and 100+ degree days. I didn't have any illness that I know of that would've caused an autoimmune response so that's all I can pin it on.
Edit: that's also why I didn't think anything of it until it got really bad. Thirst and some extra fatigue is normal for my summer routine. Dropping to 135lbs is not

I got diagnosed at 65 and I was 160 lbs. it ain’t anything you want trust me
Posted on 8/4/25 at 5:09 pm to Ingeniero
My guess is you’re close to type 2, mine was 233 at diagnosis with a A1c of 10.9. No meds my last blood work was 98 fasting 5.8 and a fasting insulin of 3 no meds all with diet control. Carnivore, maybe 10 carbs a week… dont mess around with this shite it’s called the silent killer for a reaso

All that will pass in time. I spent all my time researching, and I still do plenty of good info out there ihave never seen an indo in my life
Get a Cgm. I use stello by Dexcom and a keto mojo ketone meter that also checks glucose here to help ask anything

Ain’t nothin to be embarrassed about bro now’s the time to change and get better it can be done as is being done by many many people Around the world
Posted on 8/4/25 at 5:40 pm to Ingeniero
God damn, that sucks but it seems like you're taking it in stride. I hope it's just something in the background that you have to deal with and not anything more.
Posted on 8/4/25 at 5:54 pm to Odysseus32
Yep it's already getting better. Like I told the diabetes education counselor, I let it ruin my life for about 2 days then the pity party had to end. I've been consuming as much info as possible to really get on top of this thing and get back to a normal routine

Diabetes Solution by Dr. Richard Bernstein is what gave me a roadmap to my 4.5 A1Cs. Read it and follow it and you will live a long, complication free life.

He’s got Type 1. It’s very different than Type 2 and has to be treated differently.

I may have missed a thread. But your right 1 is a different animal

Been wearing my Dexcom long enough to get a progress report. 92% time in range, their algorithm is giving me an estimate of a 6.2 A1c already
The body is weird. My BG drops if I'm doing yard work, not severely, but enough that I need a snack. But if I do 7 miles on the treadmill it holds steady the entire time. No idea why.

If I might add you can by an A1c meter by Reli one, it only has 2testing kits it was only off a fraction testing was 6.1 Reli was 6.3
I bout a keto mojo ketone meter that check glucose and ketones. I been someway disappointed in my stello Cgm by Dexcom I often get real low and high readings, when that happens always finger prick especially for type 1. Just my experiences. Keep us updated on your journey
