Ok got a question about a diet I’m thinking about doing until I reach a weight goal. Let me say I know a diet is only good if you can stick to it so I know I wouldn’t be doing this forever. I’m wanting to make progress fast so I was thinking about doing a liquid diet from Monday-Friday. I’m just wanting to know if y’all could think of any health reasons/cons to the following. I would have the following for the day

Cup of coffee with fat free/high protein milk
Fortified protein shake
1 cup V8 juice
1cup prune juice/ healthier fruit juice
1cup V8 juice
Another fortified protein shake

I would be getting about 120 grams of protein and 100%-300% of daily vitamins/minerals and most other nutrients needs. I would be running and doing moderate weight training throughout the week too. Outside of how rigid it is and how hard it is to stick to what negatives can y’all see?

Try a lifestyle change instead of a diet.

liquid diet

A simple FYI, if you didn't already know. The body absorbs more nutrients from the act of eating/chewing/etc... than taking everything in as a liquid. Things like protein shakes are good for quick meals, but the body won't absorb as much compared to solid food with the same nutritional value.

Personally, when I'm dieting to improve my body composition I will have 1 solid meal a day, usually dinner, and a couple of protein shakes during the day. I try to balance out the nutrition loss from just a liquid diet.

I hope that helps.
