I went to bed with zero knee pain, 100% range of motion but I wake up and my right knee is in big pain. Inside part of my knee cap hurts a lot, when I rotate my knee to the outside it hurts a lot. Walking more than 50 feet is painful, knee starts to get get real stiff. Only way to walk pain free is to fully lock out knee and flex quad hard.

I did kinda injure this part 10 days ago playing pickleball, jumped for a ball and landed weird. Knee bent inwards and this area hurt a good bit, but didn’t feel dangerous. I was able to play for another hour, albeit cautiously.

Anyone experience something similar? Thanks!

Edit: Im 26, v active, played and sucked at most JV sports in HS, tore right knee acl 2015 surgery dec 2015 no complications. Used hamstring to repair acl

Sounds like it could be a meniscus tear.

Honestly can't offer suggestion but doesn't sound like meniscus too me, too my meniscus when I tore my left acl. But hell I don't know, left acl reconstruction and meniscus repair, left knee fractured twice, left tibia and fibula, fractured right knee and femur since 2019 lol

Wow, quite the list of repairs you have had to have done. Hope the fx’s weren’t at the same time. Sports and car accident?

IrishTiger does have several of the symptoms that could indicate a potentially torn meniscus.
1. Swelling or stiffness.
2. Pain, especially when twisting or rotating your knee.
3. Difficulty straightening your knee fully.

Just my opinion but it sounds like you dislocated your patella when you landed at pickle ball and it probably popped back into place before you even realized what happened. You're now experiencing the after effects of the damage to the patella cartilage and MPFL.

Dislocated patella. Have had it happen 5-6 times. It takes a minute to recover. Hopefully no cartilage was dislodged. Also could be some meniscus damage
