I have always been active (basketball, cycling, running) but I have never really done any type of weight lifting or core strengthening. I am 30 and currently weigh around 155 and am 5'10". Any ideas or pointers to get a skinny guy going? lol

Eat a shite ton and do something like Starting Strength then move on to something like Greyskull LP.

do what he said. For diet I would go one of two routes. If you wanna track everything very closely, sign up for avatar. If you dont wanna pay, go to ifcalc and plug in your info. Set it to 3 workouts per week, set rest workout split to lean mass, set protein to 3*kg of bodyweight and set carbs/fat spilt to 75/25.
Shoot to gain about 1lbs per week.

Google TDEE calculator to get an idea of how many maintenance calories you need per day. Eat about 500 calories above maintenance.
