Finally found an antidepressant that seems to help

I’ve been on mental health medications for many years. I’ve changed medicine combinations numerous times. My psychiatrist and I decided to try replacing Pristiq with Zoloft a couple of months ago.
I was resigned to the fact that my problems were beyond help from medication, but I feel much better than I have in years. It’s no longer an absolute chore just to get through the day.
I guess I’m sharing this to encourage people not to give up. I’m sure it’s not a magic bullet for my mental health struggles but for the first time in a long time I feel hopeful.

Zoloft helped me for a little while, then actually made things way worse. Just monitor it closely, also it can have other side effects one such earning it the nickname zo"soft".

That's great, dude.
ETA: If you're not doing so currently, I'd recommend looking into a therapist as well. It can be a lot more helpful when you have a medication that's lifting your depression.

Zoloft definitely helped me a lot with anxiety when I took it in high school. Depression ehh but everyone’s different. Worth a shot to take imo
Obviously take it until you feel ready to get off of it however long that may be, But I wouldn’t take antidepressants for the rest of my life or for a very long period of time.
