Don’t work out then give blood either. I learned the hard way.

I had my annual physical at work last Monday. They took some blood, we walked into another room for another test and I hit the floor. I couldn't believe it. I've never fainted from that before

I’ve always had to have blood drawn for work a time or 2 a year and use to occasionally donate blood. Never had an issue in my 20s. Got to early 30s and passed out for the first time. I had been fasting for cholesterol check and my appointment got pushed back so I went to work and was in the heat, I drew it up to that being the problem. It happened 2-3 more times after. Now I go in and tell them I got to lay down, it’s awkward but better than passing out. If laying down, as soon as they’re done I’m good and get up and go.

When I was in the army me and my friend would always grab a six pack after giving blood.

We had a blood drive every year back in high school. Our football coach got pissed that some of us donated blood and made us practice anyway. Like 15 people passed out on the field that day.
Crazy how different things were just 12 years ago. That dude would have been insta-fired today.
