Do women get athlete's foot?

I heard a sound bite on the radio this morning when a guy said women do not get athlete's foot.
Because their toes are spread far enough apart they stay dry and fungus will not grow.
I've never known a woman that has had it, but idk if he is correct.

He is not. Of course women can get athlete's foot.

Yes. I treated women with athlete's foot when I was a trainer.
I do think women may adhere better to protocols preventing athlete's foot though.

Yeah. I think women are more likely to wear shoes in public showers and let their feet air out in general.
