First time dislocating a finger...luckily it popped right back in. How long can I expect to not be able to lift decent weight with dumbell/barbells? Can't move my thumb right now so I'll be icing the next few days.

The bad thing about dislocating your thumb is that the tendon can actually pull away from the thumb and sometimes pull a chunk of bone with it.

Happened to me when I was young. Pain would go away but I kept popping it all the time. Finally went to the doctor and was told what had been happening. Might want to get it checked out.

I dislocated my middle finger real bad once and it was a full year before I could make a fist comfortably. I wasn't exercising back then, but it was real tender for months.
