Dinner before or after running?

Only trying to lose weight right now. Will build muscle later.

I've always eaten after. Eating a meal then going for a run sounds like a recipe for disaster.

That's what I always thought.
But I read somewhere recently that food in your stomach lets your body know it's not starving; therefore will release fats and calories it was holding onto.
Makes sense but I'm no doctor.

Just put yourself in a caloric deficit man, whatever is most comfortable for you
Meal timing by and large for basic weight loss is fairly insignificant

There is a better way.

Loaded Carries
Prowlers
What's great about these is that you can use them in an HIIT/Tabata style or create your own circuit. They can also be as simple as walking around your neighborhood with a kettle bell or wearing a weight vest.
Not only are they great for conditioning, but they also build muscle. Currently I have been using a combination of farmers walks and prowlers as my two main finishers after lifting. However, some people even exclusively use these movements for their entire workout.

Weight training fat burn > cardio fat burn
I'm not a scientist, but weight training will burn twice the amount of calories that cardio ever will (if you workout hard enough).
You don't even have to lift weights if that's what you choose, body weight exercises like push-ups, squats, lunges, wall sits, pull ups, etc will help you achieve your goal much faster.

I always feel kind of sluggish when I workout right after dinner. And if I wait too late, my arse can't sleep.
