Get them allergy tested. Eczema is almost always triggered by allergies.

Vitamin D is helpful for eczema. I have it (mild). This is my go to lotion (put it on while I'm still damp from the shower and reapply as needed) and I use All Free and Clear for my detergent:

I can't promise it will work for you, but my mom dealt with it on her feet for years. She tried everything from prescription ointments to home remedies. What FINALLY cleared it up was products from Bend Soap Company.

It is goat milk soap, all natural. She used the oatmeal honey milk bath and soap, and the unscented lotion. She was diligent with soaking her feet and using the lotion every night. She used the soap with every shower. Within a couple of weeks there was noticeable improvement and less itching, and after a couple of months (give or take) it was completely gone.

That was probably 5 or 6 years ago and it hasn't come back.

ETA: They have customer stories on their website. I think they got their start when they were trying to figure out something to help one of their kids who dealt with had eczema.

I’ve dealt with it since I was in the 6th grade and I’m 41 now. I’ve noticed that dairy, a lot of sugar and certain foods trigger it. When I did a full keto diet, it was gone. It is 100% diet related for me so I’m able to keep it in check for the most part. I’d look in to allergy testing your kids and see.

Over the long term, diet is key. Introduce soluble fiber as much as possible. Apples, oatmeal and beans decreases autoimmunity over time.
