The day all the gyms closed a coworker who was moving called me with a weight set he thought I would want. It wasnt the most up to date equipment but weights are weights and its was only $300. With nothing at home to train I didnt think twice about buying it. He had way more than he knew and than what I expected.
Here is what i have been working with in my garage.

After making the weight pegs, I decided to refurbish the barbell and the dumbells. Here is what I've finished with. However the barbell ends are so worn on one side that the chrome is gone and bare metal is showing.

Where can I buy/order replacement ends? I'm not sure of the brand but it has the allen screws holding the ends on the bar.

You did a great job on those bars. What all did you do to refinish them? As far as the sleeves, barbells with Allen screws are typically cheaper bars. It may be a cheaper option to just buy a new bar. I would just keep it coated with some 3 in 1 oil to keep the rust down.

i used CLR and a combo of wire brush and a wire wheel on a drill then coated with 3 in 1 oil. There is nothing functionally wrong with the sleeves just cosmetic at this point. I took them off ad cleaned the insides. They turn freely and quietly. I just like to keep my things nice if possible so my OCD was kicking in. No need to buy a new bar until i sell all of this and get a better rack.
