I am trying intermittent fasting and I just want to make sure I am breaking that 1000 calorie range so I know I am not doing any harm to my metabolism. Typical food intake this week has been 2 slices of whole wheat toast from my local bakery, spread with a fair amount of cashew butter and some type of grilled chicken salad from a restaurant at lunch. Salad usually consist of chicken, cheese, lettuce, dressing (ranch or honey mustard) and then random other items depending on the restaurant.

The toast is probably (+/-) 400-500 calories
The salad is probably (+/-) 600 calories
As I type this there are no sizes, weights, pictures so its a complete guess
I would aim to get more protein. I doubt you know your TDEE but depending on your weight yes this little of food could be negatively affecting your metabolism.

SAMs fiesta salad and 12oz of grilled chicken is 1000 cals. That’s what I broke my fast with!

No way to get an accurate count with restaurant salads unless they have nutrition info. If they are putting in different cheeses and dressing it all depends on the type, the weight, the brand, etc.
Could be anywhere from 300 - 1200 calories.
