I never said or implied it was. I said that was my purpose for a time. The reason and my why that got me out of bed in the morning was my love of competition and my desire to perform well.
It still took discipline to get me out of bed and out the door before the sun came up. Whether it was a desire to compete or just a desire to lose weight discipline was and is still needed.
Discipline is not all you need and I never insinuated it was. What I will say is it’s the one thing you can’t do without and there’s a big difference you keep missing.

I think you need to set some very lofty long term goals, and some achievable but challenging short term goals and make them accountable. The accountability can come from signing up for a race with friends or coworkers, making body composition or lifting goals with a group of equally driven gym bros, or picking an event of some sort like a vacation or hiking trip and preparing for that.
That has worked for me, I'm always working on something thats less than 6 months away that im accountable for and I have some longer fitness goals that I probably wont reach for a year or two.
